Water efficiency and production facilities
One of the most recent initiatives by Emiliana Conserve has been the upgrade and optimization of the water purifier at the Busseto plant (Parma) – an investment of 3.5 million euros. In the season 2021, this measure helped us improve the water efficiency of the plant, leading to a water consumption saving of 55.000 cubic meters as well as to an improvement of the quality of the water used in the area.
Investments have been made to modernize the production plant of San Polo (Piacenza), which have led to an overall water consumption saving of about 240.000 cubic meters in the processing season 2021.
Reducing consumption
Emiliana Conserve’s investment program has also included the purchase of advanced processing machinery to considerably reduce gas consumption and its associated impact on the environment. The first plant will be fully operational as early as the next season in 2022. All the energy used by the Emiliana Conserve plants comes from renewable energy sources that have a positive environmental impact amounting to the reforestation of an area of 40 hectares.
The certified and sustainable supply chain “Emiliana 5.0” ensures increasing efficiency in water use and social responsibility with regard to the farms supplying fresh tomatoes.
